THE HISTORY OF BURBERRY / THE TRENCH COAT RELIGION

The British fashion house was founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry by opening a store when he was just 21 years old. Despite his young age, Thomas had plenty of experience in fabrics, as he had worked as an apprentice textile merchant.  Focusing on the manufacture of outdoor items and being dissatisfied by the material they were made of, heavy waterproof clothing, Thomas invented a new material called gabardine. This fabric is made of nylon and light cotton, waterproof and, at the same time, allows the air to circulate.  In just a few years, the shop customers had called the gabardine coat "Burberry's".  35 years after opening the first store in Basingstoke, Thomas launches a new store in London on Haymarket Street, which...

CANDY CRUSH

My dears, I promised you that I would deliver more projects on carmennegoita.com and yes, I am keeping my word! Today’s post is a new editorial approach. My talented team and I dared to produce a make-up based photoshoot. Does Candy Crush mean anything to you? Well, for the ones who don’t know, it is a new addiction, a game, for almost all the smartphone users. I am not really addicted to this game, don’t get me wrong, but, due to this hype around it, let’s play it MY WAY. What came out? In my opinion… something DIVINE! My little game couldn’t be interesting without Cristian Buca – the celebrity make-up artist. He’s the artist behind many celebrities’ appearances such as Alexandra...

MEET MALVINA

My dear fashionistas, Today i will take you to the wonderful space of Malvina's showroom, the place where the jewelry and scarves I fell in love with are created.    As soon as my photographer and I set foot in this place, we immediately felt all the positive energy that filled the showroom. It was like a long awaited spa therapy. And then I've rediscovered the same positive energy in Malvina. We told stories, we laughed, we shared details from the backstage of our soul projects. I was pleasantly surprised to notice that Malvina writes and signs the cards which accompany every ordered piece of jewelry. The personal relationship with the client is extremely important in this kind of business.       I have to admit I...

The Art Of Living

Art in some form or another has existed as long as man. It is a part of our daily lives and is present in cultures across the world. Most people have an appreciation for art. They enjoy observing it or creating it, they may even support it financially or by volunteering.   Art is integral in our culture because it provides us with a deeper understanding of emotions, self-awareness, and more. The following are all reasons why I believe everyone needs art in their lives.   Here are five reasons why I believe we need art: 1. Art is a Natural Human Behavior:  Creating art is a primal behavior. Children, the world over, instinctively make. Every culture has art. Like language and laughter, art is a...

Struggle between lightness and darkness

Hello fashionistas! So nice to meet you again, here on my personal blog.  Today I will talk about one of my favorite designers. I am a big fan of Gareth Pugh and today I wear an interesting dress designed by him. What do you think about this dress? Fell free and comment. But before this, let's see who is Pugh.   At 14, Pugh began working as a costume designer for the English National Youth Theatre. He started his fashion education at City of Sunderland College and finished his degree in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in 2003. He interned with Rick Owens in Paris. His final collection at St. Martins, which used balloons to accentuate models' joints and limbs (a technique...
