How to get back in shape after the holidays

During this period, after the holidays, we hear more and more about how to get back in shape and how the fastest solution is detox. Well, let me tell your that this detox is often misunderstood. For many, it means eating everything they can today and, tomorrow, for 3-5 days, consume only juice. And that's it! Then return to the disorganized eating habits of before. I believe this approach is more harmful to the body than not doing at all. Our body has a memory and, over time, gets used to our habits. When we suddenly decide to eat healthy for a short period of time, it gets confused. A detox should be a restart to another kind of lifestyle and our...

Banana Milkshake

Welcome back to my kitchen. Today I want to show you a simple, nourishing & delicious recipe: banana milkshake. I know at first sight it seems a basic recipe, but what I do and want to get you used to do the same, is to add superfoods in almost everything you consume. Why? Because these ingredients,  in very small quantities bring you a fantastic nutrients intake without calories,  a problem which is on everybody’s mind,  who is interested in a healthy lifestyle. Like I said in the video,  I hope soon, if time will be on my part, what superfoods I have and use in my home. Surely, this will not be the last time you’ll hear me talk about them. I...

Simple hummus recipe

My darlings, I met recently with Laura Musuroaea, who told me she doesn’t eat meat anymore and tries to have more, healthy diet, but doesn’t know how to diversify her meals more. So I invited her into  #bucatarialuiCarmen ( Carmen’s Kitchen ) to try together a couple of simple and delicious recipes. On my youtube channel  you will find the lunch idea, and if you want to see what we prepared for breakfast  check out Laura’s channel. For lunch I tried a simple hummus recipe with chickpeas and baked peppers, which I saw recently at Ligia Pop’s  book launch. We are proud to tell you that it tastes as good as hers. What do we need? 200g cooked chickpeas,  100 g baked pepper, 1 teaspoon...

Raw Banana pudding

My dears, even if I didn’t post a recipe on the blog in a long time, I have been searching and experiementing all sorts of combinations. Today I want to show you a pudding which was very good. Probably because I like bananas. I used a banana, 100 ml almond milk, three teaspoons of chia seeds, one teaspoon of coconut oil and one teaspoon of cinnamon. I put them in the blender and mixed them very well. I also made a dates sauce with orange juice and a litte cardamom. You leave the pudding in the fridge half an hour and after that you add the sauce. When I took the pictures, I realized it would have been a good ideea to add some...

Cashew sour cream

I’ve been trying to find a way to replace cheese, yogurt and sour cream for a while. Not totally, but in a 70-80% proportion. I don’t know if you know this, but cheese is harder to digest than meat and that’s why I’m trying to avoid it. Even though, from time to time I get a craving for cheese and tomatoes. Today I managed to find a very good recipe for sour cream. I’m still working on that for yogurt and cheese. Raw sour cream is made of cashew(caju).    You will need:  250g of cashew Half a lemon’s juice One spoon of Himalaya salt One spoon of apple vinegar Around 150 ml of water Put the cashew in water for four hours of soaking,...

DETOX SALAD

Every day we have an intake of chemicals in our body from the air we breathe, but also through processed aliments. That’s why, from time to time, our body needs a cleaning or in modern terms, a detox. The best method trough which we can do that is a proper diet. Some choose a juice diet , others preffer detox salads, based mostly on green colour aliments. Why green?Because everything that is green alkalizes our body. Through using processed aliments in our daily menus our body gets too much acidity, and in an acid environment all bacteria and diseases have a proper place to multiplicate. The moment we choose to give up thermic prepared aliments and we base our diet...

Chia and Blackberry pudding

As I announced you last Friday, we continue talking about new types of chia pudding which I adore. Today I give you a mix of chia with blackberry, which looks amazing, as you can see. This is just my inspiration for the moment, but you can play with any other fruits you want, as long as you respect some basic indications, good for digestion. Try to use just one type of fruit, either acids or sweets, because combined they make the digestion difficult (it depends really on each organisms). Therefore, when you try new mixes, analyze how you feel afterwards. There is no recipe that works well for everybody. Chia pudding (you can find the recipe here) is mixed with blackberry...

Raw vegan ice cream

We still have a few weeks of summer while we can enjoy the season’s sweets. This week I bring you a very tasteful, easy to make and especially healthy ice cream recipe. Personally, I am not a big fan of ice cream, but this one is absolutely delicious. Tested by me, by my kids and some friends of mine. I hope you like it. Ingredients: Bananas Nuts Vanilla powder Fruits for ornament First of all, leave 5-10 bananas in the fridge (depending on how bug the ice cream you want it to be) for 10-12 hours. Then put the frozen bananas in a blender (it is to be strong or to have an ice breaker knife. I am using Thermomix), add some nuts and a bit...
